L'Intrepide French racing sailboat remote control boat
With far greater detail than lesser remote-control water craft, this is the 1:25 scale model of the ill-fated L'Intrepide French racing sailboat, renowned for finishing second despite a badly damaged mast during the 1991 MiniTransat race from Douarnenez to Martinique. Faithfully reproducing master builder Gilles Breteche's original design, this museum-quality craft is over 2' long, with an aluminum mast nearly 4' high which doubles as the boat's antenna for an operating range of 300'. The nylon sails are assembled like a real boat's, and are user-adjustable depending on wind speeds and desired speed. A handsome ABS stand is included. The efficient battery charges via AC in four hours with a runtime of up to 45 minutes. 44 1/2" H x 6 1/4" W x 24 1/2" L. (2 3/4 lbs.)
